Wulpurgis Lore 4
In the land of the Norse,
The seasons do not flow like a river,
But are divided into two, Winter and summer,
Now is a shifting of energies,
The unstable energies of change.
No longer is it winter,
But summer has yet to arrive,
This is a border state,
A time between a time.
This time of year is known
For witches and wizards,
For they live in these border states,
Focusing on change and transformation.
Seidh, a form of Norse magick,
Is done in a trance state,
An altered consciousness,
Common in border states,
In meditation, magick, pain,
And near death experiences.
Battle, a time of life and death,
Is also a border state,
A powerful time for spells,
As fight or flight takes hold.
Sex, too, is a border state,
A tool for seidh and magick,
Arousal a border state itself,
Freyja, always in this state,
Is a goddess of fire,
The energy of change.
Mortal humans, on the other hand,
Are like ice,
Stagnant and unchanging,
But through devotion to the gods,
We can become more divine,
Our consciousness rising,
Our magick and life force increasing,
Bringing us closer to the deities.
But negativity drags us down,
Bad habits and negative influences,
Sucking our spiritual energy,
Reducing our fire,
So it is important to shield ourselves,
And maintain a daily spiritual practice,
To stay on the path to enlightenment,
And never lose sight of the gods and goddesses.
